Insurance Services
Mission Essential Insurance is an independent agency. We are not tied to one carrier, so we can compare options across companies and help you choose coverage that fits your situation, your budget and the way you actually use healthcare.
Below is what we help individuals, families and businesses with. Each section links to a fuller explanation of how that coverage works, who it tends to suit and what to watch for.
Health Insurance
Marketplace and ACA Health Insurance
Individual and family coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace, including how subsidies work, when you can enroll, and which life events open a Special Enrollment Period. This is where most people start if they do not have coverage through an employer.
Private Health Insurance
Coverage outside the Marketplace, most often used by self-employed people, 1099 contractors and small business owners. Private plans work differently from ACA plans on underwriting, pre-existing conditions and enrollment timing, and those differences matter more than the premium.
Dental, Vision and Hearing
Standalone dental coverage, often bundled with vision and hearing. Plans vary widely on annual maximums, what counts as basic versus major work, and whether a waiting period applies before larger procedures are covered.
Accident, Hospital and Critical Illness
Supplemental coverage that pays a benefit directly to you after a covered accident, hospital stay, or a diagnosis such as cancer, heart attack or stroke. It sits alongside a health plan rather than replacing it, and is usually bought to cover deductibles and the costs a major health plan leaves behind.
Business and Employee Benefits
Group Health Insurance and Employee Benefits
Benefits packages for small and mid-sized employers, including group health, dental, vision, group life, disability and voluntary benefits. We help you compare carriers, structure the employer contribution, and explain the options to your team so they can enroll with some confidence.
Medicare
Understanding Medicare
The starting point if you are turning 65, retiring, or still working past 65 and trying to work out what you actually need to do and by when.
- Medicare Advantage – Part C plans that bundle your Medicare coverage, usually with a network and often with drug coverage included.
- Medicare Supplement (Medigap) – plans that pay costs Original Medicare leaves to you, with no network but a separate premium.
- Medicare Part D – prescription drug coverage, formularies, pharmacy networks and the late enrollment penalty.
- Medicare for Veterans – how Medicare works alongside VA benefits and TRICARE For Life, and why Part B and creditable drug coverage still matter.
Life Insurance
Life Insurance
Coverage that pays a benefit to the people who depend on you. Which type fits depends on what you are protecting and for how long.
- Term Life Insurance – coverage for a set number of years, generally the most affordable way to cover a large need.
- Whole Life Insurance – permanent coverage with a guaranteed death benefit and a cash value component.
- Mortgage Protection – life insurance arranged specifically around the mortgage, so the home is not at risk.
