Frequently Asked Questions

The first aspect is that it spreads the cost of dental services out on a monthly basis rather than in a lump sum. You are much more likely to go to the dentist at least 2 times a year with a dental insurance plan because it’s typically free. The second aspect is that if you do not take care of your teeth / gums then you will begin loosing teeth, needing root canals, or even dentures. By consistently taking care of your teeth through a dentist you can ensure your mouth remains healthy and keep the beautiful smile forever.

On average, basic plans can start around $20 to $30 per month, while more comprehensive coverage may range from $40 to $60 monthly.

Dental insurance typically covers a range of preventive, basic, and major dental services. Preventive care such as regular cleanings, exams, and X-rays are often fully covered or require minimal copayments. Basic services like fillings and extractions may be partially covered, while major procedures such as root canals and crowns usually have higher copayments or deductibles. Some plans also offer coverage for orthodontic treatment like braces or retainers, though this varies.

The most comprehensive dental insurance plans typically provide coverage as follows:

  • Preventative care services, including biannual checkups, cleanings, X-ray scans, and diagnostic tests, are often covered at 100%.

  • Basic procedures like fillings, extractions, and root canals are typically covered at 80%.

  • Major procedures such as crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants usually receive 50% coverage.

That’s simple; you either give me a call and I will shop all of your options based on your specific needs then we will put in an application or you can shop the plans on my site and choose an option by self. Either way it costs $0 to use a dental insurance broker.

The most common type of dental insurance is the Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO) plan. DPPO plans offer a network of dentists who have agreed to provide services at reduced rates for plan members, giving individuals the flexibility to choose their dentist while still receiving cost savings.

When considering dental insurance options, individuals often seek plans with no waiting periods, allowing immediate access to coverage for necessary dental services. Companies such as United Healthcare and Allstate Health Solutions offer dental plans without waiting periods, providing peace of mind and prompt access to dental care.

Yes, most plans that cover major dental services will cover crowns. Some plans could have 6 – 12 month waiting periods for major services; however, there are a lot of plans that do not have waiting periods for major services. Most of these plans would cover major services with a lower percentage from day 1, then increase it’s coverage after the first year.

Typically, dental plans encompassing major services include coverage for dentures. While certain plans may impose waiting periods ranging from 6 to 12 months for major services, many others waive these waiting periods altogether. Often, these plans initially provide partial coverage for major services, gradually increasing coverage over the first year.

Commonly, dental plans covering major services often include provisions for braces or orthodontic care. Although some plans might enforce waiting periods spanning from 6 to 12 months for major services, numerous others completely waive these waiting periods. Typically, such plans initially offer partial coverage for major services, with coverage gradually expanding over the initial year.

Only more comprehensive dental plans will cover implants. Typically most dental plans will cover implants up to $1,000 – $5,000 over the course of the lifetime of the policy. These plans typically will impose a 6 month – 12 month waiting period for implants. One important factor to understand before a dentist pulls a tooth, if you want an implant in the future, is whats called a missing tooth clause. Typically a dental plan will make you wait 24 months before paying out for services on a missing tooth.
